Read the metric at the right level
Ahrefs Domain Rating is a comparative domain-level backlink metric. It is not a Google ranking factor, and a strong domain score does not guarantee that an individual product profile will attract visitors.
Start with directories sorted by DR, then inspect the category and a sample listing. A small, relevant directory may describe your product better than a broad catalog with a larger headline metric.
Inspect the path from category to product
Look for a sensible category hierarchy, readable product descriptions, and a working route to the product website. Check whether your intended listing type is discoverable through normal navigation rather than only through a direct profile URL.
Keep DR alongside the other research fields. Your final shortlist should reflect audience relevance, submission requirements, fees, and the quality of the page you expect to receive.
